OTR/OTR: Healthcare Innovation Lessons Learned on AI and Health Equity

PAC’s next On the Record / Off the Record (OTR/OTR) Healthcare Innovation Lessons Learned conversation will cover health equity and AI, with Kenya Beckmann, Chief Philanthropy and Health Equity Officer, Providence South Division and Dr. Warris Bokhari, CEO and Founder of Claimable.

At Providence, Kenya oversees community health, health equity and fourteen foundations throughout California. She is responsible for coordinating the response for acute, ambulatory and community initiatives focused on health equity for Providence’s footprint in California, partnering with Quality and Community Health to meet and exceed regulatory requirements and support communities experiencing health inequities.

At Claimable, an AI-powered patient advocacy platform, Dr. Bokhari is on a mission to ensure all patients receive the care they need and coverage they deserve, starting with a focus on low-income patients. Drawing from his medical and innovation background, Dr. Bokhari worked on strategic health initiatives at Apple, Anthem, AWS and GE before he created Claimable’s patient-centric, AI-powered advocacy platform that challenges baseless claim denials to create better outcomes for providers and patients alike.

Our discussion, hosted by Mary Beth Snodgrass, will cover:

  • Promise and opportunities for AI to enable health equity

  • Pitfalls and risks of AI when it comes to health equity

  • Real-world and hypothetical examples of AI addressing health equity
